Harriers medal glory at the Yorkshire T&F Championships 2022

The Yorkshire championships event took place over the weekend of 14th and 15th May at Dodworth, South Yorkshire in glorious sunshine.

Julia Jagger retained the SW 1500 title, claiming the gold medal in a time of 4.47.30.

After warming up in the 100 m, U15 Samuel Standing went on to claim bronze medals in both the 1.25k discus and 700 javelin throws, throwing distances of 18.15 and 25.04 respectively, an excellent achievement in his debut season.

More medals in the throws came from debutants Chloe Law silver and Florence Jones bronze in the U15 3k hammer with throws of 19.44 and 12.78 respectively. A busy day for the U15W as Florence also competed in the long jump and gained a pb in the U15 800m alongside teammates Emily Wood and Sophie Mayes. In the U15 200m heats Chloe and Sophie both ran pbs.

In the senior men’s 800 javelin, Eddie Hinchliffe cemented his claim on second place and the silver medal with a season’s best throw of 55.37 m

William Lander was comfortably through to the senior men’s 400m final, finishing with a pb of 50.57 just outside the medals in 4th place.
