Whether you’re new to running or the next Olympian, Holmfirth Harriers can help you to achieve your running potential.
The club provides a varied program of activities including speed work, interval and circuit training, strength and conditioning sessions in addition to the weekly Tuesday and Thursday night runs – all designed to help you reach your peak!
Our athletes compete at many levels and at all distances – from local parkruns (a great introduction to running/racing) to international marathons – and have had many successes at local, regional and national level.
Club Road Championship
Every calendar year the road section holds a championship for all club members. Throughout the year athletes compete in a selection of races from 5k to half marathon distance. Points are attributed to performance and there is a winner for male, female, and age-graded categories.
Alongside the main road championship is the summer cup consisting of club-only races. The races for the summer cup are the Club 5 mile, 10 mile and the Holmfirth 10k. All races are handicapped and the summer cup winner is calculated using the aggregated time across the three races!
The winter cup works in a similar fashion, consisting of the Tinker Cup, Club 6 mile and Point to Point.
