Road Secretary’s Report – March 2024

Please make a note of the following four very important dates for road races coming up in the next few months. Click on the race name below for more information or to enter.

The Club 6, 5 and 10 are closed events for Harriers and are handicapped meaning that anyone can win.
The Joe Percy is a Huddersfield district team event for invited clubs.
All four races take place on roads that we use for our Tuesday and Thursday runs and all are within the capabilities of every member.
2024 Road Championship
The 2nd race in the Road Championship was the Settle 10 mile on 25th February. Michael Sanderson was first Harrier home in 1:04:18 and Gary Putnam 2nd Harrier in 1:19:15. Michael was also 2nd overall in the race which is an excellent achievement.

Club 6 – Saturday March 16th at 09:30
The Club 6 is the first of the three member only road races and like the Club 5 and Club 10 is a handicap race meaning that anyone can win. Details are on the website here.
So far (4th March) we have 26 runners entered but only FOUR volunteers. The race cannot take place without marshals on the course so if you are not running please can you volunteer to help. You can email me or fill in the form on the web page.
