Road Secretary’s Report – September 2025
Welcome to the September Road report. Firstly, the Road Championships.
2025 Road Championships
There were two races again this month, the Preston 10 miler and the Leeds Evensplits 5k. Only one taker for Preston, so Mike Hall gets the 25 points. Some great performances in Leeds with nine PBs from the 11 Harriers that took part. A huge well done to all those that placed in their age categories as well.

So far, only Mike and Keren have completed the requisite six races to qualify for the title(s) although there is time for that to change. All the races in the championship are on the website https://www.holmfirthharriers.com/championship/road-championship/ and a brief reminder is shown below. The next race is the Vale of York half on 7 September (concurrent with the YVAA Half and replacing the cancelled Garstang Half) followed by the Wistow 10k on 28th September.
If there is a tie for 1st/2nd/3rd place, the number of races entered will be taken into consideration. If there is still a tie then the age graded scores will be used.

Summer monthly 5k series
The fifth race of the season was held on 12th August with 21 runners taking part. Tim Brook was fastest this month in 0:19:47.
Results are on the web site here where you can also find start times for the final race of the season, race six on Tuesday 16th September. It would be good to get a bumper turnout of runners for the last race.
