Road Secretary’s Report – June 2026
Welcome to the June report reflecting races held in May 2026. As usual, lets start with the Road Championships.
2026 Road Championships
Only one race for May, and only one Harrier. Brandon made the trip to Buxton to compete in the half, gaining 25 points for both the men’s championship and the age graded.

Note that the Greenhead parkrun has been moved to 20th June to avoid a clash with a charity 5k that day.

Closed Club races (races only open to HHAC members)
The Past Members Memorial Club 5 (5 miles) race was held on Tuesday 5th May. A big thank you to Michael Sanderson for stepping up to be race director as I was away. 41 runners took part and the full results can be found here.

Congratulations to Jean for winning the handicap event and to Ben and Helen for being fastest man and lady respectively.
I’d also like to thank all the volunteers / marshals / helpers on the day for ensuring that the event was safe for all our runners and a success on the night.
The next closed club event is the Graham Ellis Club 10 on 7th July. Entries are open now and you can sign up to run or to help on the website Graham Ellis Club 10. If you are not running, please can you volunteer to marshal. The run is on a Tuesday and there will be no other training that evening.
Summer Monthly 5k Series
The second race in the series was held on Tuesday 12th May. Thank you to Chris Beadle for organising and coordinating this month’s event. 26 runners took part in the race with the fastest home being Helen Haigh in 0:21:00 closely followed by Tom Heap in 0:21:09.

The next race is on Tuesday 9th June and then 2nd Tuesday of each month until September.
