The organisers have confirmed that the Gilberdyke 10 mile race on 27th August has been cancelled.
An alternative 10 mile race, The City of Preston 10, has been added to the championships instead and is now open for entries. The organisers have confirmed that there are places left but are filling up fast, and they look forward to welcoming Holmfirth Harriers to their event.
2023 Road Championship
There were two championship races in June, the Sowerby Bridge (Flat Caps) 10k and the Harrogate 10k which was doubling up as the YVAA 10k championships.

Age categories in this race were in 10 year groups and meant that Adam took the trophy for 2nd M50-60 and Kevin the prize for 2nd M60-70

The next championship race is the Eccup 10 miler on Sunday 9 July closely followed by the Club 10 on Tuesday 11 July. Entries are still open for both of these.
The organisers of the final race of the championship, the Stockport 10 have just opened entries for that race and details are on the website.
The ‘long’ race for August, the Gilberdyke 10, has been cancelled by the organisers and so I have added the City of Preston 10 as an alternative. The race director in Preston has confirmed that there are places available and that they look forward to welcoming Holmfirth Harriers runners.

Summer monthly 5k series

Thursday evening speed and stamina sessions
You may be aware that these sessions have been run by Phil Hanson for many years as an alternative to Alwyn’s speed group. Phil decided to step back from these recently and with the help of Di Baldwin I have produced a new program which will launch shortly. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Phil for all his hard work and dedication to this group over the 10+ years he has been running these sessions. I know I speak for many of the attendees when I say that they have certainly made me a better runner.
