Eccup 10 2021

The sun may not have been shining in Eccup but Michael (Hall) & I still managed to be the fastest male and female Harriers on the course (irrelevant fact that we were the only 2 Harriers running ha ha ha ha).

A great undulating course and the first mile is a downhill which the Yorkshire in me reminded me that the last mile would be uphill!!!
Great to see and hear spectators out on the course as it certainly lifts you. Lovely run around the reservoir and with the roads been closed or coned off meant you could just relax and run.

Michael came in with a fabulous time of 1:24:55 , which I have to say is BOB ON considering he ran the Holme Valley 5 miler less than 48 hours before, my time was 1:31:47 which I am more than happy with and gives me belief and hope that a sub 2 hour half marathon in October is possible.

Reality check was at about 9.6 miles  a young man was collapsed ( he’s ok ) and just acted as a reminder that whilst a great time is what we all want it’s about starting and finishing without issues or injury.
