Martin Asquith Booth

We are saddened to announce the death of one of our longest serving Honorary Life Members, Martin Booth (74) who passed away peacefully on Sunday 26th December 2021 after a long illness.

Martin Joined the club on 14th October 1960 at the age of 13 and was made an Honorary Life member in May 2001 in recognition of his contribution to the Harriers. He was Club Secretary for 15 years commencing in 1966 and was involved in changing the Club colours to an amber vest with black badge (previously black vest with a white on the chest). Although not seen much in recent years he has always been a staunch supporter of Holmfirth Harriers AC.

Funeral arrangements are not as yet known, and more information will be published regarding Martin’s life and time with the Harriers in due course.

UPDATE:

The funeral details are – Tuesday 25th January at Trinity Church, Moorbottom, Honley at 11.30 am, followed by cremation at Parkwood Crematorium, Elland at 12.45 pm. This is followed by refreshments at the Travellers Rest, Brockholes.
