The annual Xmas cross country handicaps were held on Saturday 17th of December at Brooklands Nursery Scholes.
The fields were greatly reduced due to the flu type bug with a number of young athletes having to withdraw on the evening before or day of the races.
Those who were able to run found the car park very slippery on arrival but the course around the fields at the side of the nursery were safe with plenty of grass.
With the weather not rising much above freezing the metal of all the athletes was tested but all completed the course showing great determination.
The medals were awarded afterwards in the warmth of the cafe as the athletes defrosted with hot chocolate and cakes.
A big thank you to Carl Brook and all the staff at Brooklands Nursery for allowing us to stage the event.
