England Athletics have recognised the magnificent efforts made by John McFadzean and Neil Dutton for our club and the wider community.
John has won the ‘Community Project’ award for all the hard work he’s put in over the years running Fun in Athletics – a scheme that introduces youngsters into athletics by helping them learn a whole host of technical skills during school holidays. It’s been running for 20 years.
Neil took home the ‘Newcomer to Volunteering’ award at EA’s Yorkshire & Humberside awards evening on Friday. He only started coaching a couple of years ago and has since grown our junior ranks and inspired the Northern Track and Field League team to big improvements this year.
We’re really proud of both John and Neil and know how lucky we are to have them.Both John & Neil are now in the final 8 for the national awards.
