Another excursion into Lancashire for race 7 of this years Club Road Championships.
This was a surprisingly scenic, and challenging, 13.1 miles, made more so by the unseasonably warm weather with the sun beating down the whole race (very little shelter).
There was a small, but perfectly formed, contingent of 5 Harriers who made the trip and, inspite of the difficulties, enjoyed the day.
First home was Clark Hind, in 9th place overall, in a time of 1 hour, 25 mins, 50 secs. He was followed by Bob Dickinson (1:44:14), Nicky Ottaway (1:49:41), Mike Hall (2:08:51) and Richard Whale (2:35:28).
These results consolidated Nicky’s lead at the top of the ladies championship, with Bob taking over from Mike at the top of the mens.
The next race was the Shepley 10k the following Sunday (12th September).
