The second of the three day athletic camps concluded on Friday 28th of August, and although the weather on the Thursday had been poor this did not damped the enthusiasm or effort of the children attending.
The first camp took place in the first week of the school holidays with over 50 children attending each day, in fact both camps were fully booked with a number of children being disappointed due to this.
The young athletes pictured with their medals and T Shirts on the 24th of July at the end of the first camp after having completed 10 running, throwing and jumping disciplines over the three days.
The second camp was a bit of a mixture with the middle day, Thursday, suffering from a heavy down pour all day which meant an indoor session in which the young athletes did six different events highlighting the ABC of athletics Agility, Balance and Co-ordination.

Sprinting and co-ordination

All the children were giving coaching in each event before being timed and measured. They are then awarded points dependent on what they achieved and are. The points from each event are then added together to decide which colour medal they receive: gold, silver or bronze.

Also in the picture are the coaches and older Junior Harriers who gave up their time to make it such a fun and successful 3 days.
