The Yorkshire Road Relay Championships is a great team event that usually involves racing around a cycle track. This makes for fast running, great spectating, and excellent facilities. If you’re new to road relays and want a gentle introduction, then this is a great event to do; there will be some very good athletes taking part, but it tends to be a bit more low-key than some of the other events that we attend.
There is a whole raft of junior races as well as the senior relays. Juniors will race two miles and compete for individual prizes as well as team prizes (teams of three). Seniors on the other hand will race three miles each in teams of four.
If you are able to run this year then please contact Helen Haigh (women) or Damian McQueen (men) to let us know of your availability. For further information on the event, please prefer to the prospectus below.
As with all team events it is important that if you say you can run then you do keep that date available. Teams will be picked from those that are available and reserves notified. Reserves often end up being needed due to injuries or illness of original team members so be prepared to run right up to the day of the even; you may get a frantic phone call due to a last minute drop out!
