This is an important event for our Junior and Senior runners to put in their diaries as it acts as a qualifier for the National Road Relays.

  • Start Times: 11:30 (juniors) / 14:00 (men) / 14:05 (women)
  • Cost: Paid by the club
  • Distance: 3.2k (juniors) / 5.6k (seniors)
  • Terrain: Road

Details:

The Northern Road Relays is one of the most prestigious running events in the road calendar. It also acts as a qualifier for the National Road Relays, which usually take place a fortnight later.

Juniors:

The event is open to all juniors aged 11 to 17 on 1st September 2024, with separate races in u13, u15, and u17 categories.

Runners will compete in teams of three within each age category, with each completing a 3.2km leg.

Seniors:

The event is open to all seniors aged 17 or over on 1st September 2024.

Senior men - six runners in total, each completing a 5.6k leg

Senior women - four runners in total, each completing a 5.1k leg

Some of the best athletes from the North will be competing which ensures a high standard of competition for all athletes involved, although the standard across the field varies and anyone is welcome to run.
