EVENT UPDATE: This forms part of the 12 race virtual chamionship – this race will end the series

Details:

This forms part of the 12 race virtual chamionship so no further entries are possible - this race will end the Series

Date: Tuesday 30th March 2021

Start/Finish: Arrive Marsh Platt Lane by Neiley Field 18.30 (off Gynn Lane).

Start Times (age @ 1/09/2020)

18.35 Over 13s 5K

18.37 Over 13s 2K

18.40 u13 Boys

18.43 u13 Girls

19.00 u11 Boys

19.03 u11 Girls

Please note that only Over 13s are permitted to Race 5K for the Handicapped race.  For the virtual winter series, 5k was permitted, but usual practice for safety reasons, is to race within the restraints of your age category.

Please line up in race order maintaining 2m distance, starting at Marsh Platt Lane.  John Levick acting as Race Manager will assist.

Those Over13s doing the 5k race will be contacted individually as we will need to get together before the race for the purpose of course familiarisation.  This is important as although we have a Hare and Sweeper, it is not possible to line the course with Marshalls.

In the queue for the start line, you will be handed your race number and don't forget to bring safety pins to attach your race number to the front of your vest.  Without your race number, you may not get a result recorded, so this is really important.

If an athlete runs into difficulty during the race, they should make their way to the nearest Marshall, and wait to return with them to the Finish line, if possible, once the race has finished.

Race Officials

Thank you to all parents for acting as Marshalls.  Please wear a Hi-Viz if you have one, as it helps our athletes to recognise you as a Race Official. The course is being lined with little colour cones.  Marshalls need to stand at a cone to line the course and as an athlete races towards you, give them a clap/cheer and point in the direction of next cone/Marshall.

If you are unable to attend the race, please let me and John know as soon as possible.

Awards

Following the race, there will be a presentation by the finish line but please maintain social distancing.

For U11, U13, and over 13s age category, male/female split, the following medals are being awarded:

Awards for the fastest time (this will be calculated by taking the average time in the final 3 virtual races completed by each athlete)

Awards for the most improved athlete (this will be calculated by taking the first 3 and last 3 races completed in the series)

Awards will also be presented for first place in the Handicapped race.  This means first passed the finish line for age categories listed above.

Please note that although medals for U15s and U17s are as one age category (i.e.Over 13s), medals are being awarded for both the 2k and the 5k races separately.

A medal will also be awarded to those who have completed a minimum of 10 races out of 12 in the All to Count series.

Neiley Pavilion is open from 18.30 but please refer to the HHAC website so you are familiar with Covid rules for reopening.
