The Eskdale Mixed Fell Relay is a challenging fell running team relay event held in the scenic Eskdale valley of the Lake District, hosted by Black Combe Runners. Teams of eight runners, divided into four pairs, each complete one of four legs covering rough, steep, and technical terrain totaling approximately 23.8 miles (38.3 km) with 7,530 feet (2,295 m) of ascent. The course requires strong navigation skills without GPS, as routes are unmarked and involve mandatory checkpoints.
The event emphasizes club depth across mixed age and gender categories and supports St Bega’s Primary School through fundraising. The start and finish are at the Woolpack Inn near Boot, creating a vibrant community atmosphere.
