Race Date: Sunday 15th May 2022
A great turnout of 48 Harriers across the 4 teams – which is no mean feat on a busy weekend for racing!
As ever, a few changes to the original line-ups, including a last-minute Covid-related drop-out, so many thanks to those that stepped in!
Some great results, with the Men’s team finishing 6th overall, the Ladies 38th overall & 2nd Ladies team, the Ale Stars Vets 29th overall & the Cote de Holme Moss Open team 41st overall, from 88 teams that started.
Some storming performances on the legs as well, with Joe Minchella & Alex Robinson 4th fastest on Leg 3, Tim Brook & Philip Hinchcliffe 4th fastest on Leg 4 and Lewis Byram & Aaron Kettlewell 2nd fastest on Leg 6. Elsewhere, Dan Stewart & Ben Humphreys were 11th fastest on Leg 3 (not bad for a pair of Vets), Annie McLean & Olivia Dyson were 2nd fastest ladies on Leg 3, whilst Helena Croft & Julia Thomas were fastest ladies on Leg 4, as were Amy Smith & Nicki Brown on Leg 6!
Mind you, performance of the day, going above & beyond, was from Andrew Clarke, who took a real tumble at the beginning of Leg 3, but bravely carried on to complete the leg in a new PB, after which he was taken to A&E, where the diagnosis was a broken wrist! What a club man!
We had athletes ranging in age from U17 to V70, which is a great advert for the race & our club.
Attached are a few photos from the day.
