2014 route change

A new landowner near Upperthong has refused permission for the race to cross his land. The race has had to be re-routed via Upperthong, Upperthong Lane, Binns Lane and Hill Lane. The circuit around Broad Lane, Ashgrove Road, Greenfield Road and Parkhead Lane has been taken out.

The course is 0.5km longer but the same distance on tarmac road.

This year the Tinker Cup will take place on Saturday 20th December 2014. For members of Holmfirth Harriers and other club members who hold an England Athletics (EA) race licence, the entry fee is £5; registration will be on the day at Honley Cricket from 12.45pm for the race to start 2pm.  To assist the handicappers, please sign up at Neiley in advance.

For runners without an England Athletic race licence, you must obtain one in advance by contacting the Membership Secretary, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. The cost for the licence is £10 and can be used for race entry for your races during 2015 (for which you will receive a discount on races).  The application and £10 fee needs to be with Jacqueline no later than 13 December 2014.

Juniors who would like to take part must be at least 17 years of age on the day of the race; please discuss with John Buckingham before entering.

The Tinker Cup is Holmfirth Harriers’ famous handicap prize covering six miles of cross country over fields, fences, barbed wire and streams from Honley Cricket Club to Burnlee and back.  You can find out more, including details of previous winners and the race venue on the About the Tinker Cup page.

Note: To be eligible to win any for the three main trophies, HHAC must be your first claim club.
