Senior Fell Championship update and current standings
March 2016

The mist and murk at Black Combe the other Saturday caught out a few of the elite runners hoping to score some early points in this year's English Championship. You'll have to judge for yourselves whether there were any similar wanderings off-piste amongst the Holmfirth contingent – certainly, no-one has admitted anything!

Chris Beadle in the Ian Robert's Fell Race

Chris Beadle enjoys
the top spot!

Anyway, we have now completed the first three races in this year's Championship and I know it's only early days and the tables don't mean much at this stage, but we'll let Chris enjoy his time at the top! Similarly, Helen has already staked a claim for retaining her crown, but I know there are some of you out there keen to mount a challenge and plan your weekends around the remaining 12 races!

The next race is at Wardle Skyline on Saturday 9th April 2016 – not too far to travel and shouldn't be too technical, so get yourself across to Rochdale for a run out. This is followed by the somewhat different prospect that is the 3 Peaks on Saturday 30th April 2016. I’ll be there in a supporting capacity this time, as injury has curtailed any meaningful training!

See you on a hill sometime (hopefully soon).
