The end of the year & the end of another Fell Championship! For the men, some 35 took part throughout the year, but unfortunately ill-timed injuries took their toll and only 8 managed to complete at least 3 races. The end result is that only your Fell Captain Phil Hobbs completed enough races to count, topping the Championship table on 153 points. However, it was good to see some new faces venturing onto the fells & hopefully 2014 will see even more of you out there.

For the ladies, 9 of you took part during the year and although Clare Ash gave a great account of herself, it was Helen Berry who has retained her title on the maximum 105 points from 7 races, with Clare just behind on 93 points. The All-to-Count competition race was very close, with Helen on 259 points just edging out Phil, on 248 points.

Looking ahead to 2014, I have once again endeavoured wherever possible to avoid any clashes with Road Relays, Cross Country events, Vets Grand Prix races etc & have also tried to tie in races with the juniors so that we have a significant Harriers presence at as many events as possible.

The format will be the same as this year - 15 races to choose from, with 7 races to be completed (including 1 of each length). There are some new races and some old favourites & we also have the added bonus of hosting a Junior English Championship race at the end of May, when we will be resurrecting the West Nab races at Meltham (last run in 2003) complete with senior race.
