On behalf of the Committee notice is given that the AGM will be held at the Clubhouse after training on Tuesday 10 June 2008 commencing at 8.30. A list has gone up on the noticeboard on which Members can post items for discussion at the meeting and, most importantly, can put themselves up for Committee positions.
So, if there is something you want to get off your chest about the running of the Club this is the time to do so. If you are unhappy with the running of the Club and would like to make a contribution to its future, put your name forward and not just for those officers who are standing down – honestly, we won’t be offended. If you think we are all wonderful and doing a fabulous job then come along anyway and tell us – we like compliments as much as everyone else.
Whilst the Club is in a healthy state, as we enter into our second century we are nevertheless facing some real choices, should we keep growing, and if so how do we deal with it? Should we focus on athletic achievement or athletic participation? Is the Committee representative of the membership? These and more are all issues which need to be debated and resolved pretty quickly. The AGM is the place to make your voice heard and the Committee is the body you elect to do it – so make sure it’s the right one.
John Ritchie – Hon. Secretary
